I don’t have a 9 to 5 job any more, and I still love a short work-week. It made for lots of great family time. Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and short week as well. Here are the R’s…
Recap
Monday’s QWA was a doozey. Our Labor Day weekend was jammed packed with activities and plenty of photo ops for Q-man, including a tailgate and his first swim.
My first two posts about germaphobia ignited so much great conversation, I just had to do one more. Tuesday, I confessed all my crazy, drastic measures to avoid germs, and many of you shared some of yours with me as well. Sandra’s comment cracked me up. If I only I could figure out where to find her because if she had a blog I would totally read it.
Not-So-Wordy-Wednesday featured my little bookworm “reading” in the park. One, two, three… “awwwww!”
Thursday, I posted the first “To LBK” since Quinn was born. He’s six-months-old now, and I can’t believe how quickly time is going by. This letter to Quinn is from the heart of a mommy watching her baby grow.
Thursday’s post went up a little late (and, consequently, so did this one) because my laptop finally died on Thursday morning. For real this time. Croaked. Belly up. Kaput. I had a mild breakdown. Luckily, I have the most amazing Hubs on the planet because he surprised me with a new laptop that very night. So today, I surprised him and brought him a Starbucks. I know, not quite the same thing. Anyhoot, please forgive the tardiness of these last two posts. I promise to be back on track next week.
Referral
This week’s super awesome blogger referral is Nicole from By Word of Mouth Musings. I adore her. She calls herself “a lily white African American with an accent.” Ha! She’s a hoot-and-a-half! She hosts a Time Travel Tuesday meme where bloggers can recycle an old favorite post and get more comment love. Nicole is a great writer and a blogging expert. I’ve learned a TON from her. She also homeschools her kiddos, so if you’re interested in learning more about that, you should totally check her out. To top off her greatness, she has an incredible new blog design, of which I am quite jealous. With that, I give you Nicole. (Insert applause here.)
Rewind
A dear friend of mine recently shared some great news. She’s preggers! Whoo hoo! Everyone is so excited for her. I warned her about “preggo brain” and confirmed that it is a real thing. In fact, I wrote all about my preggo brain when I was pregnant for Q. I thought I would have my brain back by now, but no. Apparently, now it’s known as “mommy brain.” I just call it sleep deprivation.
Next week, I’m going to tell you how nap time is making me fat and broke, how I’m adjusting to being a SAHM, and who we think our son looks like when he makes a certain funny face.
Have a great weekend, friends!
