The first raindrops of the fall season came down this week. Time to wash up the warm sweaters, turn on the heater, and start ordering hot beverages at Starbucks again. Fall really makes me miss the Midwest. We don’t have the color change here in Cali, and the season doesn’t have quite the same crisp smell. But it has a beauty all its own here, with the sun shining down through the raindrops and a eucalyptus-ish smell that I still can’t identify. After months without rain, the earth is grateful for the drink, and things just seem… calmer… somehow. Here are this week’s R’s.
Recap
In Monday’s QWA, Quinn became the Detroit Lions’ cutest little good luck charm.
On Tuesday, in honor of our second anniversary, I told you the story of our blustery wedding day.
In this week’s Not-So-Wordy-Wednesday, you saw a quick photo slideshow of our blustery wedding day.
Thursday, I told about how I didn’t have my dress until ten days before the wedding in My Wedding Dress Catastrophe.
Referral
This week’s super awesome blogger referral is Robin from Farewell, Stranger. Her writing is raw, deep and honest. Every single one of her posts makes me think about… stuff … and feel... stuff. You know you’ve come across a phenomenal writer when a blog post makes you feel something you didn’t expect. Robin writes about being a mom, post-partum depression and coping with life. She’s also a contributing writer and editor at Just.Be. Enough., a website about accepting our flaws, recognizing our strengths and celebrating the fact that we’re all human. If you ever need to feel a bit better about yourself, check out Just.Be. Enough.
Right now Robin’s starting the process of changing everything, so head on over and show her some support. You need more Robin, so hunker down under a blanket in this chilly, fall weather and get ready to feel… stuff.
Rewind
For our anniversary on Monday night, Hubs and I chilled at home and opened the last bottle of wine we brought back from our honeymoon in Italy. Mmmm, we do love our wine. Wine tasting has always been one of our favorite activities. Luckily, it’s something we can still do with the kiddo in tow.
Tune in next week!
It’s been a while since my last “gym sighting” post, so next week I’ll have another one for you. I’ll also tell you how I am prepared to be the mom of a little boy, and I’ll show you a few honeymoon photos.
Have a great weekend, friends!
