Not-so-wordy Wednesday: Positano
In celebration of our second anniversary last week, you saw a short slide show of our wedding. The day after the wedding, Matt and I flew off to Italy for a glorious honeymoon. We spent the first week in Positano, a small, lazy beach town on the Amalfi Coast.
Our hotel was incredible! The pool on the roof overlooked the Mediterranean Sea – as did the balcony of our suite. Every day, we watched the fishermen leave from the marina and return later, knowing that our dinner was going to come from that very catch.
Like all the towns on the Amalfi Coast, Positano is built into the side of the cliff, and cars are not allowed below a certain point. So you have to climb lots of stairs to get around. Good thing, too, considering the embarrassingly large quantities of food and wine we consumed!
Positano was a great home base. From there, we took a ferry to the Island of Capri and a bus to see the ruins of Pompeii.
Here’s another short slideshow. Don't try to watch it in full screen mode. Stupid Blogger compressed it so much, it's super grainy when you blow it up. But definitely check it out, especially if you’ve ever been – or dreamt of going – to Italy. I highly recommend adding the Amalfi Coast to your list of must-see places!
