Quinn’s Weekend Adventures: Aloha, Baby – Part 2

Quinn’s Weekend Week-long Adventure: Aloha, Baby – Part 2

We just spent the most amazing week on the island of Kauai. I could definitely get used to the slow pace of island life, and I think Quinn would agree. Going to the beach every day, taking long walks along the coast, sipping cocktails (or in Quinn’s case, water from a sippy cup) and watching the sunset on the ocean from comfort of our porch. I gave you a short preview in last week’s QWA. Here’s how the rest of the week went.

A happy little sea turtle waves good morning as he swims just a few feet from
the shore outside our rental house.

Okay, get ready for lots of beach and sunset photos. Here, Quinn and Daddy await the sunset.

Quinn and Mommy enjoy the view.

Quinn and Daddy like it, too. (Sorry, we’ve been watching a lot of The Cat in the Hat lately.)

Our little Q-ball sure charmed his Poppa Steve on this vacation!

The view from our walk around Whalers Cove. That is some blue water!

Little Q was too sleepy to notice. He decided to put his feet up and have a snooze.

Q watches the waves from his perch on Daddy’s shoulders.

Q and Mommy after a seaside picnic.

Quinn and Daddy spent lots of time in the water together. Q really seems to like the water, so
I’m definitely signing him up for swim lessons this winter.

Shhh, don’t wake the Q-Monster. After another long walk with his Namma Mary, he fell
asleep in the stroller again.

Our last day on the island was beautiful, so we made ourselves at home on the beach that afternoon. After a some playtime in the ocean and a little nap on Mommy’s shoulder, Q was all smiles and giggles.

Quinn abandoned his toys and sippy long enough to watch a friendly dog bury his catch.

Q discovered his new favorite toy this week – Daddy’s sunglasses. We’re all very
surprised they’re still in one piece!

A wonderful end to a wonderful vacation. Hopefully we’ll be back again next year, Kauai. Mahalo.

Did you catch my awesome guest bloggers last week? I would like to thank Nicole from “By Word of Mouth Musings” and Amanda (a.k.a. Dumb Mom) from “parenting BY dummies” for holding down the fort while I was away. Go give them a read and some bloggy love!

I just realized that this is my 100th blog post. Wow! That’s pretty cool since tomorrow will be my one-year blogiversary. One hundred posts in one year. Not too shabby, especially considering I got off to a less than consistent start. But more on that later this week. I’ll be a guest over at JDaniel4’s Mom tomorrow, so come back by and check it out!
