At the end of every year, I marvel at how fast the year went
by. Each year seems to go by faster than the one before. And just when I think
time cannot possibly speed by any faster, it’s December 31st again.
But this year, I mean it. 2011 really has gone by faster
than any other year. For real this time. And what a year it was. Let’s review,
shall we?
January: I wrote
a lengthy post called “Pulling a Pam” about how I stopped living my life for other people. This post was a
tough one for me to write, and I’m so appreciative of the outpouring of support
I received after posting it.
February: Hey,
remember that time everyone in the childbirth class stared at my ass? “Okay, Come Look at My Butt” got a lot of laughs at my expense.
March: I only
wrote one post in March, “Our Baby Un-shower.” Q-man was born three weeks early, so March got
unexpectedly busy…
June: Life would
be so different if Hubs and I weren’t parents in “If Life Had No Q.”
July: “Splitting Hairs” was my first (and favorite) Not-So-Wordy Wednesday post, and I’ve
done one every Wednesday since (unless I’m on a Blog-cation, of course).
August: August
was a BIG month. I started my daily blog
schedule, I wrote a trilogy on my germophobia, and I officially quit my corporate gig to be a
stay-at-home-mommy in “My New Office.”
September: Quinn
turned six months-old, and I wrote my first “To LBK”
post since his birth. I also shared my struggle with adjusting to
stay-at-home-mom life in “SAHM vs. HW.”
Good thing I have “My Roadie”
by my side.
October: Hubs and
I celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary, and I told you all about “Our Wedding Story.”
November: I
apologized to all my non-mom friends and family (and explained why my Facebook
status updates suck now) in “Not a Non-Mom.” In honor of Thanksgiving, I described what I am most “Grateful”
for.
December: I
shared two childhood memories in “Winter” and “The Countdown Begins.” I also wrote another “To LBK” post to Quinn when he turned nine months-old.
I’ve met some fantastic people in the blogosphere this year –
many of whom have inspired me, encouraged me and challenged me. I’m grateful
for each of you who read my words and share your stories with me. I wish you
all happiness, peace and joy in 2012.
This post is in
response to this week’s writing prompt from Mama Kat: “This year in blog posts…
choose one from each month of 2011 and share.” Yes, I know I cheated and linked
more than one post for some months. I’m a rule-bender.
