Big Q had a rough week. He’s been a little bit sick before, but never like this. He’s got one nasty, snot-filled cold. Yuck. It’s keeping him up all night, and he’s having trouble breathing through his nose. My poor baby. But even though he doesn’t feel well and can’t sleep, Q’s still a happy little dude during the day. He’s a trooper.
The highlight of this Yucky Week of Snot is that Q turned nine months old yesterday. I don’t think it’s being too dramatic to say that his first birthday is right around the corner. Time is going by much too fast.
Here are the R’s.
Recap
On Monday, we had a big QWA. We went on a Christmas tree-cutting adventure and put up all the holiday decorations. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
On Tuesday, I wrote a letter to Santa Claus. Not for Quinn. For me.
In this week’s Not-So-Wordy Wednesday, you went under the sea at the aquarium with Quinn, me and our mommy and baby friends.
Thursday, I realized I don’t have to go home for Christmas because home is right here.
Referral
This week’s super awesome blogger referral is Melissa from The Mommyhood Chronicles. The similarities between us are uncanny. First, we have same name, so you know she’s awesome right off the bat. Second, we’re the same age so she gets all my old school references. Third, her baby is just a couple weeks younger than Q, so we each know what the other is going through. Except she has two babies, so I learn a lot from her!
Melissa’s family is so cute! Seriously, those kids are just adorable. They both have great hair! She writes about the joys and challenges of parenthood, and she manages to laugh through it all.
I like that she’s honest about the tough stuff, like PPD, which I still don’t have the guts to write about. I love her stories about her daughter – she makes me really hope our second one (if there’s a second one – no, I’m not pregnant again) is a girl. Even this story is cute.
So get all caught up with Melissa this weekend. Enter some of her giveaways while you’re there. She’s offering up some good stuff!
Rewind
I love anticipation. Instant gratification is so tempting, but I love having something to look forward to and the build up of excitement. That’s one of my favorite things about Christmastime – how you can wrap anticipation up in beautiful paper and sparkly bows and place it under a tree. And wait. And wait. And wait. Until Christmas.
Tune in next week!
Next week, I’ll write another “To LBK” letter in honor of Quinn’s nine-month milestone, and I’ll tell you how we’re preparing for his first Christmas.
Have a great weekend, friends! Happy holidays!
Melissa
