After all the hoopla and anticipation, another holiday
season has come and gone. I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday. Q-man had a
busy and exciting first Christmas, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas
Blog-cation. Aside from feeling fat and disgusting from eating too many
Christmas cookies, I am relaxed, refreshed and ready to face 2012. Here are the R’s from my first week back.
Recap
On Tuesday, you saw a whole bunch of baby adorableness from Quinn’s first Christmas QWA.
In this week’s Not-So-Wordy Wednesday, Q tried to eat your face.
Thursday, we had a 2011 Year in Review, and I posted links to my favorite posts from every month of
the year.
Referral
This week’s super awesome blogger referral is Stephanie
Klein from “Stephanie Klein’s Greek Tragedy.”
Years ago, before I even knew what a blog was, my dear friend sent me a link to
this blog. Greek Tragedy is the first blog I ever started following, and I have
been a loyal fan ever since. Plus, she loves gift wrapping and anticipation as much as I do, so
what’s not to love?
Stephanie Klein
is the author of two books, Straight Up and Dirty and Moose.
Both are great, and Straight Up and
Dirty is one of my all-time favorites. She tells the story of her jerk-off
ex-husband (“the Wasband”) and their
failed marriage. She shares the pain of her divorce and the challenges of
starting her life over again. Let’s just say, I can relate. More than a little
bit. Plus, the book is funny! And a
little dirty, so if you blush easily, read it in private.
In her blog, Stephanie Klein shares her new life with us. We
get to meet her wonderful husband
and adorable twins, whom she lovingly refers to as “The Beans.” Her writing is not just funny.
Sometimes it’s side-splitting, knee-slapping, laugh-until-you-can’t-breathe
funny. You may actually snort. Don’t say I didn't warn you.
In addition to entertaining stories, anecdotes and commentaries,
Stephanie posts about food yumminess,
travel, party ideas, awesome photos and other good stuff. She also gives excellent life and relationship
advice. She’s
serious about the tough love.
So when you’re sitting around on New Year’s Day, pour
yourself a little hair of the dog and get all caught up with Stephanie Klein. You’ll
be in good company, since she’ll probably have some wine with you.
Rewind
In January 2011, I wrote a trilogy about my worst job ever. I didn’t know it was going to be a trilogy when I started
writing it, but there was just so much drama for one post. Now, I’ve come full
circle and I have the best job ever. Ah, happiness…
Tune in next week
year!
I got the sweetest Christmas gift from my Hubs and baby boy.
I’ll tell you all about it on Thursday, so have some tissues handy. We’ll also
have a little discussion about New Year’s resolutions, and hopefully you’ll
share yours, too.
Be careful out there on Saturday night. The crazies will be
out in full force.
Have a safe and Happy New Year, friends!
