Quinn’s Weekend Adventures: Swingin’

It occurred to me recently that Quinn’s finally old enough for some of the playground equipment. I figured that was the kind of thing that toddlers did, you know, once they started walking. But then a friend said she put her seven-month-old in a baby swing, and she loved it.

Why didn’t I think of that sooner?

So Hubs and I took Q to the park to play on the swings for the first time. His sweet smile says it all.

I don't know what Q's hair is doing in this picture, but it cracks my sh*t up! Haha!

He also went down the slide with Mommy a few times. Babies are a great excuse to act like a kid.

Then Hubs left on a business trip Saturday morning, so it was just the Q-man and me this weekend. On Sunday afternoon, the two of us went downtown for a stroll and were surprised to see the farmers market going on. I guess the unseasonably warm, dry weather brought all the merchants out.

Then Quinn and I walked over to another park and found a baby swing. No, he doesn’t have shoes on. They’re in the car somewhere. I figured it was better for him to take them off and lose them in the car than at the park.

When Quinn woke up from his nap later, I turned on the Super Bowl. Now, you know I’m not a huge fan of football. And I was really tempted to celebrate the end of football season by not watching it. But it just seemed weird not to have it on. Plus, I really wanted to see the commercials.

So to make Daddy proud, here’s a picture of our baby boy watching his first Super Bowl game.

Quinn doesn’t have any New England Patriots gear, so we decided that his Captain America shirt would have to do.

For any Pats fans who are still mourning yesterday’s loss, hopefully this will make you smile.

Quinn loves to be read to. He hands you the book he wants you to read, and when you’re done, he makes the sign for “more.” We read the same books about a hundred times a day.

And sometimes he reads by himself, flipping through the pages of his board books and jabbering away.
