In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb {Not-so-wordy Wednesday}

For Q’s first birthday party, I did an “in like a lion, out like a lamb” theme. Turns out our March came in like a lamb and might be going out like one, too. Oh well. It was still a cute theme. Here are some photos from Q’s birthday celebration.

I made party hats, goodie bags, cupcake decorations and a birthday banner with the lion and lamb theme. (The bottom part of the banner with Quinn's name is now hanging up in his room.)

The boys had lions on their hats and bags, and the girls had lambs. I downloaded the template and instructions to make the party hats here. (I just created a sticker for the front instead of the big flowers.)

I even found a lion balloon.

Here’s Q all dressed up for his special day. It turned out to be much warmer that day than we thought it would be, so he was quickly stripped down to his t-shirt, slathered in sunscreen and covered with a sun hat. Most of his guests never got to see him in his cute little outfit.

 Quinn’s first experience with sugar. He liked licking the frosting off his fingers, but he didn’t even try to put any pieces of cake in his mouth. He wouldn’t eat ice cream either. (Whose kid is this?)

My friends thought it would be fun to get a picture of all their babies in their party hats. It was a nice thought.

At the end of the day, all the sweat and sunscreen did awesome things for Q’s hair.

Although super tired and overwhelmed, he was trooper. Q had a wonderful first birthday.
