F-R-R-R-iday!

Big, BIG news! Quinn took his first steps yesterday! We were walking in the hallway, and my hands were barely holding on to his sides. I slowly let go, and he took two steps all by himself! Look out, everybody. Here comes trouble.

Here are the “R’s.”

Recap

In Monday’s QWA, we had some fun with Instagram.

In this week’s Not-So-Wordy Wednesday, I posted a video capturing the sounds of the frog chorus behind our house.

On Thursday, I remembered all the things I liked about living alone.

Referral

This week’s super awesome blogger referral is Jillsmo from Yeah. Good Times. Her real name might be Jill, but I can't be sure. Anyway, I’m a sucker for a blog that combines funny illustrations with cuss words.

Jillsmo is a mom of two – one child who’s autistic and one who “OMGISN’T.” Yeah, she said that. See, she has a fabulous sense of humor, which, as we’ve discussed, is a necessity when you’re a mom.

She describes her posts as “random shit” that goes through her head, and I’d say that’s a pretty accurate description. Every now and then, she’ll hit you with something heavy that makes you say “whoa.” But most often, her posts are hilarious vignettes that provide sneak peeks into her life, her family and her brain. I always head over to her blog when I need a laugh, which is… um… yeah, everyday.

In addition to a daily dose of laughter, Jillsmo provides education and awareness about autism. She’s a wonderful resource for all parents, especially those who have kids with special needs. Her ability to remain optimistic and see the hilarious side of any situation is inspiring.

I recommend putting aside some of your weekend plans and having some good times over at Jillsmo’s instead. You may only intend to read a couple of posts, but you’ll get sucked in, and then you’ll be late for whatever you were supposed to do anyway.

And if you really want to laugh your ass off, follow her on Twitter.

Rewind

I can’t believe Q is starting to walk! All of you were right, and logically, I knew it too. I was all worried over nothing. Again. I know this means the fun is really about to begin, but I admit, I’m a bit relieved.

Tune in next week!

I know I was supposed to tell you all about my ideas for inventions this week, but I did a Mama Kat prompt instead, so I’ll tell you about them next week. Also, my dear friend, Laura, is coming to visit from Boston this weekend, so you’ll hear all about our fun adventures in Monday’s QWA.

Have a great weekend, friends!
