Sunday, Quinn celebrated his second Easter. It occurred to
me that now that Q’s over a year old, there are no more “first” holidays, and I
got a little sad. I barely remember his first Easter. We were still in the sleep-deprived haze of living with a
newborn. At least I had my act together enough to fill a little Easter basket
for him last year. It was a small bunny rabbit basket that my grandmother crocheted when I was a baby.
This year, Quinn’s Easter basket overflowed. He’s been
really into playing with balls lately (*snicker*), so I went a little overboard
– I mean the Easter Bunny went a
little overboard – and bought Quinn seven balls. Seven. He got a five-pack of
these Baby Einstein activity balls,
a little soccer ball and a SpongeBob bouncy ball. He also got a couple of books
and shape sorter toy. So we filled the little rabbit basket again, plus I
upgraded Q to a bigger Easter basket to contain the rest of his loot.
After Quinn tore his baskets apart, we got him dressed. Q
looked adorable in his little sweater vest. (Yes, another sweater vest. I can’t help it! They’re just so cute!)
Then we went to the annual Easter lunch with Hubs’ family. Q
is still a little too young for the big Easter egg hunt with the other kids,
but he still had a great time playing with his cousins and getting passed
around all the adults.
I went to dinner with my good friend, Whitney, on Thursday night, and she gave Quinn a super
soft bunny rabbit. He’s been snuggling with it ever since. It even went
with him on a wagon ride.
Yep, Quinn’s second Easter was hoppin’. Now he’s one Snoozey Q.
