So I’ve got good news and bad news. I’ll get the bad news
out of the way first.
I’ve decided to stop doing the “F-R-R-R-iday” posts every
week. As much as I love introducing you to awesome bloggers, and I know several
of you look forward to stopping by here on Fridays for that very reason, it’s
just becoming too time consuming to post one every week. Plus, those posts
get significantly less traffic than all the others.
So I’m going to publish a “F-R-R-R-iday” post just on the first
Friday of the month instead of every week. Hope you’re all okay with that. And
I hope this means I’ll have more time to find more awesome bloggers for you.
Part of the reason why my time is more limited now is
because The Hubs broke his foot. We found out on Friday that he has to be in a
cast for the next ten weeks, and he can’t put any weight on it at all. So that
means I have to do much of the “dinner-dishes- bath-bedtime” routine myself.
Hubs helps out as much as he can, but I’m pretty pooped by the end of the day.
Now, onto the good news.
Even though Hubs hurt his foot, he still gave me a wonderful
Mother’s Day weekend. I know it’s hard on him not being able to help out more,
and he feels awful about it. That’s part of the reason he totally spoiled me.
He came home on Friday with red roses and a bottle of one of my favorite wines.
Then on Saturday, he gave me a new sundress and skirt. Then
on Sunday, he gave me two books I’ve been wanting by two fellow bloggers (Abby Has Issues by Abby Heugel and
Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by The Bloggess). Hubs also says there’s another gift coming from Quinn that
just hasn’t arrived yet.
I’m sad that Hubs broke his foot, but I do enjoy getting presents.
On Saturday, we filled up Quinn’s new baby pool and let him
splash around in the backyard. His little girlfriend came over to play, too. They were so cute together!
On Sunday, we splashed around in the big pool at Quinn’s Grandma
and Poppa’s house. I bought Quinn this cute little raft-thingy with a canopy,
and he loved floating around in it. (Yes, that’s me in my mom-suit. It’s hideous. I don’t want to talk about it.)
Q's cousins jumped in the pool with him, and he found their
awesome cannonball skills to be wildly entertaining.
Quinn was enthralled by the necklace I received for Mother’s Day last year. It has a
small charm with a lower-case “q” on it.
Aside from broken bones and trying to adjust to a new
routine, we had a really good weekend together as a family. Hubs taught Quinn
to say “Mama Day” on Mother’s Day. It melted my heart. I do love these boys.
