F-R-R-R-iday! {June 2012}

Helloooo! Ah, it feels so good to do a F-R-R-R-iday post again. As you may recall, I moved these to once a month instead of every Friday. Yes, I know I said I would post them on the first Friday of the month, but I didn’t realize until three days later that last Friday was June 1st. Whoops. See, I’m already screwing this up. Try to hide your surprise.

Here are the “R’s.”

Recap

Here is a short recap of my favorite posts from May:

Auntie Laura came to visit, and we picked up right where we left off.

I don’t always read your blog while I’m peeing, but … yeah, that’s usually what I’m doing.

Q-man got his first haircut! He looks like such a big boy now.

These Batman p.j.’s might be the cutest things I’ve ever seen.

That Time Magazine cover created a whole lotta hullabaloo. To that, I say meh.

Referral

This month’s super awesome blogger referral is Kristy from She Just Walks Around With It. What does she just walk around with, you ask? Yeah, it’s what you think it is. It’s her ass. See, you already love her.

Two years ago, I turned up preggers and off-handedly mentioned to a friend that I may or may not start a blog. He immediately told me start reading Kristy. “She’s a mom. She talks about real mom shit. Funny as hell, dude.” I think those were his exact words. Well, more or less.

My friend was right. I love Kristy because our paths are similar and she puts words to things that I could not. She also puts humor to things that I could not. Well, until now, of course. Read her story. “Scintillating” is how she describes it, and Oh. Yes. It. Is.

Intrigued? Thought so. Get to know Kristy and her big, gorgeous ass. She’s real, funny, witty and so very Clever.

Read her now. Thank me later.

Rewind

I read a post recently about a woman who lost her one month old baby to a rare disease. She described in detail the quick progression of the illness from the day it was detected until thirty days later when it took her little girl’s life. I sat on my couch and bawled my eyes out long after I finished reading her tragic story. I still cannot put into words how grateful I am that our little guy is happy and healthy. His smile tugs on my heart and brings a tear to my eye every day.

Tune in this month!

June is going to be busy, busy, busy! There’s Father’s Day, Hubs’ birthday, a super fun wedding/first-birthday combo fiesta, AND Q and I are flying to Michigan by ourselves at the end of the month. Whew! It’s shaping up to be quite a summer already. Plus, I recently had a revelation that I’ll share with you. Shocked the hell out of me, that’s for sure.

Happy end of school year! Hope your summer is off to a fabulous start!
