Father’s Day was three days ago, and you’re probably
thinking that this post would have been more useful long before today. Yeah,
you’re right, and I’m sorry about that, but my Hubs actually reads this blog
and posting about it before Father’s Day would’ve given away the surprise. So
just bookmark this page for next year.
I shamelessly stole this idea from my (recently wedded) friend, Robin, whom I think found the idea
on Pinterest (from where all
ideas are shamelessly stolen). Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest?
I took pictures of Quinn holding letters to spell out “DAD”
and put them in a frame with slots for three 4x6 photos.
The final product looks like this. How. Freaking. Adorable.
Is this?
This would also work with the letters M-O-M. (Hint, hint, dads).
Here are the three images a little bigger so you can see the full extent of my son’s adorableness.

Not sure how I managed to get Q to put his face through the
middle of the letter “D,” but I’m so glad he did. Even though he’s not really
smiling in that photo, I had to use it.
Honestly, how hard is it to get a toddler to hold onto a
letter, sit still, and smile? Really f**king hard, apparently. * Here are some outtakes
from our backyard photo shoot.
Now the frame is sitting on Hubs’ desk at work (I think). It’s
no $40M jet, but he really
liked it. (Thanks for showing me up again,
Beyoncé.)
*You know, I’m not
sure why I sometimes spell out the swear words with all their letters and sometimes
I put asterisks in there instead. I think I say “fuck” just as often as I say “f**k.”
Hmmm, maybe it depends on my mood or snark level at the moment. I’d explore
this question further, but this is supposed to be Not-So-Wordy, so I guess we’ll
never know.
