Hubs and I have each had several baby-free days separately while
the other one stayed home with Quinn. We’ve also gone out for a handful of dates,
usually leaving Quinn with Grandma or a friend for just a few hours.
That’s why Saturday was extra special. For the first time in
the seventeen months since Quinn was born, Hubs and I had an entire afternoon
all to ourselves. A whole afternoon.
We spent our baby-free day together at the San Francisco Giants game. I gave
the tickets to Hubs’ for his birthday, so we’ve been looking
forward to this for a couple of months.
Warm, sunny skies and a great view of the SF Bay welcomed us
when we arrived at our seats. We had a couple of beers and a hot dog while we
relaxed and watched the Giants beat the Rockies by more than a little bit.
Sitting side-by-side in the sun, only half-watching the baseball game, talking and drinking our beers… it felt like the pre-Quinn us.
We’ve really got to do this more often.
Hubs’ recovery from his foot injury went a lot faster than we expected. He’s already out of his walking boot and finished with physical therapy. Whoo hoo! Which leads me to Sunday…
Sunday was another first, this one including our baby. Hubs can finally join Q and me on our long walk. We walked to the store and to the park, and Hubs got to
chase Quinn around this time.
Going on a nice walk with my family and playing at the park
with our little boy was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The
post-Quinn us is pretty great too.

Daddy bought Q that sand rake on Sunday morning, and he hasn't put it down since. |
