Fall? Is that you? {Quinn’s Weekend Adventures}

I love the fall season. I love the smell, colors and crisp weather. I love the food that simmers all day in a crock pot. I love the sweaters, scarves, boots and hats. I even love the need for an umbrella.

So why the hell is it 102 degrees at my house today?!

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. This is not an early Halloween trick. That’s really the temperature outside right now at 2:00 in the afternoon. I even looked at the calendar, and it’s definitely October 1st.

Dammit, California. I know in January I’ll be sick of the rain and chilly weather, but for right now, can’t we just pretend to have a proper fall season? *sigh*

To beat the heat yesterday, we headed to the coast where it was a good thirty degrees cooler. Still a warm 73 degrees and sunny by the ocean, you would’ve never known it was fall.

We went to the small beach where Hubs and I were married three years ago. Our anniversary is Wednesday, and we realized that we hadn’t taken Quinn there yet.

We weren’t the only ones with this fabulous idea.

Memories of Kauai still fresh in Little Q’s mind, he wanted to run into the water as soon as we arrived. “Wa-wa!” he yelled and pointed at the waves rushing in. Hubs and I took him down to the water so he could put his feet in. We thought he would run back to the sand as soon as he realized that this freezing water was nothing like the warm waters of Kauai, but Q surprised us. He giggled with delight as the frigid waves washed over his bare feet, depositing sand between his toes.

Watch where you step!

Some good friends of ours joined us at the beach with their adorable three year old daughter. This little girl LOVES cowboy hats and wears one almost every day. It’s so stinkin’ cute. Quinn had to miss her Old West themed birthday party because he was sick, so she brought him his little bag of party favors. In the bag, he found his own awesome cowboy hat and wore it all through dinner.

I think I know what Q will be for Halloween this year!
