Listen to this. {Not-so-wordy Wednesday}

Quinn loves, loves, LOVES several of the Sesame Street songs with famous artists. His favorites include, Outdoors with Jason Mraz (to the tune of “I’m Yours”), 1-2-3-4 with Feist (a spin on her famous song in honor of the number 4), and Set Your Piggies Free by Ziggy Marley.  (It's possible that I like What I Am with Will.I.Am. even more than Q does.)

I’ve searched high and low for these and other songs on a CD or to download, but to no avail.

Then my super awesome and ever-so-helpful Hubs found this website – www.ListenToYouTube.com. It takes any YouTube video and converts it to an MP3 for free. Yes, really. I’m not making this up. What? You heard about this forever ago? Well, I live under a rock, and I just discovered it, so I’m telling you about it now, okay?

It’s not the highest quality sound file, but I doubt your toddler will notice. It may not be the most ethical thing to convert the audio from a YouTube video into an MP3, but it’s not a file sharing site. So it’s legal – or legal-ish – at least for now. So enjoy it until it gets shut down.

You’re welcome. And if you come to my son’s second birthday party next month, pretend to be surprised by the mix CD in the goodie bag that will include several of these bootleg Sesame Street songs. Oh, the things we do to please our tots…

Just enter the URL of the YouTube video you want.

Wait just a second for it to convert the audio into an MP3. But be careful!
The site is riddled with ads and spam. Click on the non-obvious link
at the top to download the MP3 file and NOT on the big colorful buttons below it.
Unless you enjoy spam. And pop-ups. And potentially porn.

Okay, now you can click on the obvious button. Voila!
