Purging {Not-so-wordy Wednesday}

Whenever I take on a huge cleaning or organizational project, I have to make a huge mess first. Even though the goal is to get things cleaner, I start by getting messier. Does anyone else do that?

For example, I’m beginning the process of turning the guest room into Quinn’s Big Boy Bedroom. (Check out my Pinterest board. So many ideas!!) That means I need to get all my crap out of the guest room closet. And that means I have to make room for all that crap in my closet. And that means I need to get rid of a lot of crap.

In my effort to clean out the guest room, I’ve somehow managed to bury the floor and the entire bed. Clothing, old toys, books, shoes, bags and purses, and other random odds and ends sit in huge piles making it impossible to walk across the room. It's seriously a scene from Hoarders right now. (How did all that crap fit into that tiny closet anyway?!) This picture is just one tiny corner of the giant mess I made while cleaning.

By the end of the week, all that stuff will be bagged up and taken to Goodwill. So by the time Hubs gets home from his business trip, we should be able to see the floor again. I hope.

  1. It feels good to purge though, doesn't it? I love spring cleaning, always makes me feel lighter.

  2. I do the same thing - usually in the kids' rooms.
